The first time i heard this song, it was being played live at Saarang by this amazing vocalist/guitarist Professor of ours. Yes you read right. He really is awesome, totally rocks too. Anyway it was the end of their performance and they got a standing ovation from a packed CLT audience all going..Na Na Na Na Nananana. Now thats the kind of impact that song has, it got me started on this "discover beatles" mission. Well this post is to tell you about some of the stuff I've read about the Beatles today.
Firstly the song Hey Jude according to Paul Mc Cartney the song is actually referring to John Lennon's son Julian as Jude, trying to console, advise him after his parent's divorce. Although a debate rages on as to whether the song really was just that or was a tribute to heroin or a song about a musician and his new tune. I would rather stick with the first view but the second stanza might be referring to Julian's drug problem perhaps..'under your skin' ' in and out' ' movement on your shoulder? The last phrase is a bit puzzling although that could refer to some method of injection. But the song on the whole does seem to be consoling Julian imploring him to learn to love again. Songs like this really make me wish I could write songs for some of the tunes I've composed, needs to be about a real experience, that shows in the song..really. Well Im off to write my song, So long..(not a bad beginning?)

Hey Dude ! Hey Jude has to be one of the most brilliant songs ever da ! Must've been a really cool professor , to have played Hey Jude ! There are soooo many legends about the song, but one of the most interesting stories is about how this old Holocaust survivor ( I think) misinterpreted the song . To promote the song, the Beatles had Hey Jude, written written on the walls of their Apple Office, and this old guy thought that it was a Nazi message 'Hey Jude !' ( like it was pointing at the jew ...the Nazi's had Juden Raus , or Juden Aus or whatever , which means , Jew Go Home I think )
Super da, I can talk about Hey Jude forever. It has to be the most beautiful , uplifting song ever. ' And Anytime you feel the pain / Hey Jude , refrain, don't carry the world upon your shoulder' .
I think Julian owns the original Hey Jude manuscript. He bought it at an auction or something . They RULE da. The beatles are amazing - and have a brilliant time on your discover beatles mission da. I wish I could forget every beatles song I know ( which is all of them:P) and start this 'Discover Beatles' mission all over again. Honestly da, there are some songs that just leave you totally helpless after listening to them the first time- I wish I could feel that way again. DAmn ! Have fun da, and I see that I've spoken enough. Later !
And sorry to come back about and talk about the Beatles, but it's unlikely that there was a drug reference because when this song was written, Julian would have been around 4 ! His dad definitely had serious drug problems then, but Julian was a little young for that !
I've never understood ' the movement you need is on your shoulder' either. I know that Paul didn't like the line and wanted it changed, but then John thought it was good and so it stayed. What I think is that, it's just a super uplifting song, telling Julian to let her (Yoko?) into his heart, because that's who his daddy loved now.
Don't you just love the bit when Paul goes ' Hey Jew-oooo-ood ?' And sticking to the jew thing , there is this strange song from Yellow Submarine called Baby You're a Rich man , which is supposed to be them singing about their rich, gay , Jewish manager , Brian Epstein. The chorus is 'Baby you're a rich man, baby your'e a rich man, baby you're a rich man too' ...three of them sing it, but someone told me that one of them ( John I think) was singing 'Baby you're a rich fag jew') It's bloody amazing da - listen to it, and you'll definitely hear and F sound for man and J sound for Too !
Anyway, later. I promise I will shut up now. My apologies da ! Take care, and have fun !
Yeah, Sharad already said most of what I wanted to say and tons more. So, I'll just leave but before that, Sarath, go read the story behind "I Am the Walrus".... It's too funny...
I guess i've discovered some real fanatical fans and er..i guess i put some crap about julian there. well anyway im not a beatles expert yet..so its acceptable i hope..?
And vindy..this I am Walrus thing is nice but i read some really "nice" conspiracy theory about Paul being killed in a car crash..makes a nice story..any comments about that?

And read some stuff about floyd and beatles recording in basically adjacent rooms in the same EMI studios..which is probably not new information to either of you..you fanatics.. Me..im on the path to fanatichood..:D
And that chorus..does kind of sound like big fat jew..or rich fag jew or something..u r right the f and jew are audible.
And btw..my beatles initiation was the song Yellow Submarine..which was when i was about 11 years ago..my brother used to play this tape and i loved those submarine sounds and weird noises in the song.
Good Beatles initiation song da ! I think mine was I Wanna Hold Your Hand , I don't remember where I heard it really. The Wonder Years theme by Tom Petty is a Beatles cover ! Ensai da , I envy you !
